Debbie Flenniken – Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Mrs. Debbie Flenniken, from Hudson, started HCA seventeen years ago with her husband and another couple. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford. Her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. She says, “I enjoy her use of humour, irony, and her social commentary on manners held during the 18th century in England. My favorite character is Elizabeth Bennett, who learns the important lesson of not being so hastily judgmental.” In her free time, Mrs. Flenniken enjoys gardening, hiking, cooking, reading, watching her children compete in sports (mainly soccer), and, most of all, spending time with family and friends! She contributes to the school’s mission, explaining, “I strive to select curriculum that will not only help our students grow in wisdom and knowledge about God’s creation but will point them to Jesus Christ and their relationship with Him. By serving alongside our faculty and staff as they teach the Bible and curriculum, which is rooted in Scripture, I hope we are imparting in our students a love for learning and a desire to become servants for Christ.”
