CONVERT YOUR OHIO TAX DOLLARS TO HCA SCHOLARSHIPS!
The state of Ohio’s Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) tax credit authorizes donors who contribute to K-12 student scholarships through a certified SGO to receive a dollar-for-dollar reduction in their state taxes up to $750 per individual taxpayer ($1,500 per couple). Last year, families and friends of Heritage redirected over $300,000 tax dollars to HCA through this tax credit opportunity. If every HCA family participates this year, we have the potential to raise over $600,000! Learn more here.

ANNUAL PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST
Bring your pumpkins October 14! Please review the rules on the flyer, bring a pumpkin on a box or a base, and be sure to attach the form. Early Childhood and Study Center families can drop off pumpkins on Tuesday morning.
PASTOR APPRECIATION BREAKFAST
Thank you to the many Pastors who joined us for the annual Pastor Appreciation Breakfast this past week. We are thankful for the many ways you shepherd our community and enjoyed the opportunity to serve and thank you!
PICTURE DAYS
School pictures will be taken at Peninsula on October 16 and 17. Pepper Pike Upper and Lower School picture day will be October 28, and retakes will be held on December 5. Registration information will be available next week.
ATHLETICS CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER
Support HCA Athletics and stop by the Chipotle at 5 Atterbury Blvd Ste 1 in Hudson for our fundraiser on Tuesday, October 22 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. To participate, download this flyer or mention the fundraiser at checkout and they'll donate 25% of the proceeds to our school.

Moms & Muffins will be held for Peninsula Jr. Kindergarten students on Wednesday, October 16, and for 3’s and 4’s on Thursday, October 17. See the flyers to register! All Pepper Pike Early Childhood Moms & Muffins events will be held on October 16. More information coming soon in teacher newsletters!
Save the dates for our annual Christmas Concerts! Pepper Pike students will perform on Thursday, December 12 at Parkside Church and Peninsula students at Christ Community Chapel on Wednesday, December 18.

HOT LUNCHES
Hot lunches are available weekly for all K-11th grade students. For Lower School students, Chick-fil-A orders are due the Sunday before (served on Tuesday), and pizza orders are due the Monday before (served on Wednesday). All orders are due on Sunday night for Upper School students. Late orders cannot be accepted.

ATTENDANCE REPORTING POLICY
Please note an important change to our Attendance Reporting Policy. For all attendance related communications including absences, tardies, mid-day appointments, bussing, carpooling, and early pick-ups, please do one of the following:

Conferences are coming up! Early Childhood-5th grade parents will register for conferences on Renweb. From your Family Portal, click on ‘Calendar,’ then ‘My Classrooms’ to view your teacher’s conference schedule and choose a 15-minute time slot.
PICK-UP REMINDER
If your student needs to reenter the school building during dismissal (ie, use the restroom, forgot a book), please pull out of the pick-up line and proceed to a parking spot to wait for your child.
PRAYING DADS & MOMS
We invite Heritage dads to join together for prayer on the second Friday of every month, beginning tomorrow, October 11 at 6:30am-7:30am in the library.
We invite Heritage moms to join together for prayer on the second Thursday of every month, from 8:30am-9:30am in the library.
Please come and go as your schedule allows, and you are welcome to bring younger children with you.

COATS & JACKETS REMINDER
Please send a coat or jacket with your children every day to school with rain/snow gear when the weather is inclement. We will take students outside for recess as much as possible.

LUNCH VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS
Volunteers are needed! As a lunch and recess monitor, alongside HCA staff, you will assist at lunch and then recess. This is a wonderful way to see your students at school and meet other HCA parents!
PSAT PRACTICE TEST
A practice PSAT test will be given on Saturday, October 19 from 1pm-3:30pm in the Maynard Building for 10th and 11th graders. Students should let Mrs. Johns or Mrs. Hatteberg know if they will participate in this practice test.
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
Upper School teachers will hold parent/teacher conferences on October 23 and 24. Parents of Upper School students will not necessarily have a conference! In general, if a teacher has a need to meet with you, they have already emailed you with a request for you to sign up for a conference. If you did not receive a request for a conference, but have a specific need to meet with a teacher, you may email that teacher and request a conference. The teacher in turn will send you a sign-up link for you to choose a time slot.
PSAT
The PSAT will be given to 10th and 11th graders on Tuesday, October 29. These students should report to the Maynard building by 8:15 a.m. for the test with fully charged Chromebooks. They will be dismissed for the day at around 11:00 am and not have any classes the rest of the day. Please arrange rides for them to leave then as there will be no bussing at this dismissal time!

CHROMEBOOK & EMAIL POLICY FORMS
If you did not sign the Parent and Student Chromebook and Email policy forms or did not fill them out correctly, you will receive an email this week with the link. Please sign the forms using your name, rather than “yes” or “understood,” and complete them as soon as possible. Thank you!
GYM SWEATPANT ORDERS
With the cold weather approaching, additional orders have been coming in for P.E. sweatpants. If you would like to place an order for your student(s), the deadline for ordering is tomorrow, October 11, at noon. Thank you!

The Cross Country Banquet is Wednesday, October 16th at 4:15pm in the chapel at Pepper Pike. The dress is casual and varsity letters will be awarded.
The Volleyball Banquet date is now TBD due to the middle school team’s exciting playoff run!
BASKETBALL REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

ATHLETICS FORMS UPDATE
OCSAA recently updated their physical form to use the OHSAA physical for 2024-2025. For any future physicals for your student, you will need to use the OHSAA form, which you can find on the HCA Athletics website.
