Ohio Department of Education EdChoice Programs

The Ohio EdChoice (OEC) Scholarship is a state-funded school choice option that assists families with the cost of private education. Every Ohio K-12 student in the State of Ohio is eligible for an OEC Scholarship.

To participate in any scholarship program offered through HCA, parents and students should first apply for admission. Once the student has been accepted for enrollment, or if the student is currently enrolled, HCA may submit a scholarship application for the student through the secure online application system.

FACTS Payment Plans & Financial Aid

Tuition payment plans will not be adjusted for EdChoice scholarship awards until Heritage receives your accepted and signed award letter from Ohio Department of Education.

Please note that EdChoice scholarships are controlled by the state. HCA will submit your application but is not involved in the selection or distribution of the funds.

Please note that all families will be required to set up a FACTS payment plan for the 2024-2025 school year as completed and maintained in the past. Families will be responsible for any account balances not covered by the EdChoice scholarship. For all students, initial tuition payments for the upcoming school year will begin in July. When HCA is notified of the scholarship award amount, it will be applied to the family FACTS account. If a family account has a credit balance once the award has been applied to the FACTS account, HCA will reconcile any overpaid payments.

Financial aid will only be determined AFTER the EdChoice scholarship reward has been determined and accepted.  Once accepted by the state, families will review, accept, and sign an award letter. Once this letter is received by HCA, financial aid will be determined.

Other Scholarship Options

Please note that other financial aid & scholarships may be adjusted based on state scholarship awards and remaining financial need. After all awards, no tuition balance can be lower than ZERO dollars. State scholarships are for tuition only & do not cover fees.
