THE HOUSE SYSTEM
On Tuesday, we introduced the 4 new Houses: Fortis, Iustus, Prudens, and Temperans! Ask your child if he or she knows the English meanings of those names. The House System is designed to break our larger Upper School into smaller communities to encourage relationships between students and to foster the mentoring and discipling of students by our teachers (formally known as the House Deans, House Mentors, and House Crusaders). The Houses will occasionally eat, serve, pray, and compete together! The winning House will win the prestigious House Cup at the end of the year. Students were placed in their Houses on Tuesday and received a t-shirt that they will wear to camp tomorrow. We are excited for the plans of the House System!

CROSS COUNTRY
The Riverside Kickoff Classic Invitational was a strong start to the season, with the Girls’ Middle School team placing 7th out of 58 schools. Despite the heat, the runners performed well, while the High School team faced the challenge of navigating a nighttime course lit by Christmas lights. All the HCA runners displayed resilience and set a promising tone for the season ahead!
VOLLEYBALL
The girls had a wonderful start to their season as the Varsity Team faced off against the Middle School Team in Peninsula this past Tuesday. Their hard work during practice paid off as they put each other to the test with expert play. After a hard-fought game, the teams celebrated together, showing their HCA spirit as they prepared for their first game on Thursday at Westside Academy.
BASKETBALL SIGN-UPS COMING SOON
It is not too early to start thinking about basketball! HCA will have Middle and High School girls’ and boys’ teams. This is a great opportunity to participate in HCA athletics during the winter months. Please reach out to the athletic department with any questions at athletics@heritageclassicalacademy.org.
